MFT January Creative Construction with Blueprints

January 31, 2017

It's time for this month's MFT Creative Construction with Blueprints DT Challenge! This month, we are challenged to create tags with a love theme using the Tag Builder Blueprints Die-namics.

I used the Tag Builder Blueprints 3 Die-namics and the Otterly Love stamp set to create my trio of tags.

I die cut my tag bases using the Tag Builder Blueprints 3 Die-namics. I inked the lower half of them with the matching dye inks (The inks I used are listed at the bottom of this post.) and spattered them with some white ink.
I die cut out the sentiments from the bases and backed them with another tag base so that I could embed the cut-out sentiments. It's an easy way to align die cut sentiments. :)

For the sentiments I used Hot Fudge card stock. I also used foam sheets to make them popped up.

The otters were colored with Copics and were cut out with the matching dies. The hearts around them were cut from Cherry Crisp card stock using the Tag Builder Blueprints 3 Die-namics.
The tabs were cut from Kraft card stock using a die from the Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics

Head on over to the MFT blog to see what the other DT members have come up with for today! You'll get a lot of inspiration for your Valentine's Day tags. ;)

MFT January Card Kit Release

January 25, 2017

The new MFT Card Kit, No Place Like Home is available for purchase in the MFT store now!

I have one more card to share with you that I made using the No Place Like Home card kit.

Almost all the supplies I used for today's card are included in the kit. I just needed to use a few Die-namics to cut my panels, a white marker to add some dots to the ground and the roof, and a bit of Crystal Drops for the door knob.

(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
I started my card with a Smooth White side-fold card. I cut a Cherry Crisp panel and adhered it to the card base along with three strips of card stock in ombre colors (Blu Raspberry, Sno Cone, and Smooth White).

I created a little scene on a Blu Raspberry panel cut with the Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics. The house, the potted plants, and the clouds were cut with the Home Sweet Home Die-namics. I used English Mustard Crystal Drops for the door knob.

I stamped a sentiment from the No Place Like Home stamp set on a Smooth White panel cut with the Inside & Out Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX Die-namics, then adhered the circle panel to it. Before I adhered the circle panel, I layered another circle panel underneath it, since I wanted to add a little dimension but foam tape was too thick. (See the photo below.)

MFT January Card Kit Countdown Day 2

January 24, 2017

Welcome to Day 2 of the MFT No Place Like Home Card Kit Countdown! I have a Valentine's Day card to share with you today.

(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
To create my heart shaped lock, I blended some Distress Inks (Tattered Rose and Festive Berries) on a piece of watercolor paper, spritzed it with water, and die cut out a stitched heart from it. I cut out a key hole using the Lock & Key Die-namics and added a handle I made using the Single Stitch Line Circle Frames Die-namics. I attached my lock to a Wonky Stitched Square panel with foam tape, then tied a die-cut key with hemp cord.

For the background, I used the Abstract Stencil. I stenciled it on the card front directly using Blu Breeze and Blue Yonder Premium Dye inks. The sentiment is from the No Place Like Home stamp set.

The new kit will be available for purchase TONIGHT at 9:00 pm EST. Make sure you visit the MFT blog to see the full reveal of the kit and for more inspiration from the DT!
