MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #261

December 30, 2015

I'm sorry that I've been totally absent from blogging and other social media (FB and IG) for so long. I know it's not only me in the holiday season, but my life has been hectic and I've almost lost my passion for my hobby and the internet world. :( I hope it will come back soon after New Year's celebration.
Anyway, I've popped in to share a card I made for this weeks MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge (WSC261).

I started my card with a Lemon Chiffon card base. The background panel was die cut with a scalloped rectangle die from Blueprints 20 Die-namics and stamped with Tiny Stars Background and Lemon Chiffon Pigment ink. The square panel was die cut with Cross-Stitch Square STAX Die-namics and stamped with Watercolor Stripes Background and Lemon Chiffon Pigment ink. I added a little banner cut with Creative Clips Die-namics and Hip Clips Die-namics to the panel. The Tickled Pink panel was stamped with Tiny Stars Background and Bubblegum Dye ink, and I added a couple of stitch lines using Basic Stitch Lines Die-namics.

The elephant and balloon are from Adorable Elephants stamp set and they were colored with Copics and cut with the matching dies. I covered the balloon with some Glossy Accents. The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Brown Dye ink. I added several sequins to finish off the card.

I'd like to wrap up my blogging for the year 2015 with this post. Thank you so much for visiting and leaving lovely comments here this year. And I truly appreciate your warm support to Birdie Brown stamps. Sometimes designing a stamp set is a hard work. But your warm words always encourage me and I feel sooooo happy when I see my stamps are used all over the world, because I believe that it means my illustration have made someone happy. :):)

I will be back on Jan 1st as MFT January Release Countdown begins.  Have a Happy New Year!!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #259

my post for the Color Throwdown Challenge #373.
Thank you. **

Hi again! I'm back with a card I made for this weeks MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge (WSC259).

As you can see, I made the focal panel smaller than the original sketch. I die cut two panels using Stitched Rounded Rectangle Die-namics, one is from Whip Cream CS which I stamped with Pinstripe Background and another is from pink Gingham patterned paper. I cut off the bottom part of the gingham panel using Stitched Scallop Edges Die-namics and layered it over the Whip Cream panel.
The PI girl from Steeped in Love stamp set was colored with Copics and cut out with the matching die. For the sentiments I used Label Maker Sentiments stamp set and Label Tape Die-namics. They were stamped with Tropical Teal Dye ink. I added three enamel dots to finish off the card.

Head over to the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog for more info about the challenge and for more inspiration from the fabulous Challenge team! I hope you play along with us this week.

Thank you for stopping by!

Color Throwdown Challenge #373

It's the last week I guest design for the Color Throwdown Challenge, since they will be taking a break for the holiday season. I'd like to say a big thank you to Barbara and the DT for having me as a guest designer. I really enjoyed playing with their color palette every week, and I've got three more Christmas cards done thanks to the challenges! :D

The last challenge of 2015 from them is pretty easy!

I decided to go with very traditional Christmas colors - green, red, and white, and one of my most favorite stamp sets of the year - Christmas Elves. Well, I realized that the layout of this card is almost the same with the card I made for CTD 372 while I was editing the photo. I have to say that this is my most favorite layout of the year... LOL.

The elf and the tree were stamped onto the matching die-cut pieces and were colored with Copics. I used a white gel pen to decorate the tree. The Whip Cream frame was cut with Stitched Mini Scallop Ciecle STAX Die-namics and Circle STAX 2 Die-namics.
The Cherry Crisp panel was stamped with Winter Waves Background and Versa Mark ink. The chevron patterned paper is from Calm & Cozy Chevron Paper Pack. The sentiment is from Trim the Tree stamp set and it was gold embossed on a Black Licorice panel cut with Blueprints 20.

Make sure to visit the Color Throwdown Challenge blog to see what the DT have come up with for today!

I'll be popping in again several hours later to share a card I made for this weeks MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge. See you soon! ;)
