TSG218 - Paper Piecing

July 29, 2013

Happy Monday everyone!
This weeks TSG challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week, Jenny! She has challenged us to make a card or project using paper piecing.

For this card I used three TSG stamp sets, Amalia's Daisy Fairy, Mixed Media Backgrounds (these were just released last Saturday!) and This is My Life.

To make the background panel, I sponged Butter Bar and Fresh Peach ink (Hero Arts) onto a trimmed white cardstock. Then I added some texture using Mixed Media Backgrounds set.

I stamped Amalia onto another piece of cardstock, colored her with Copics and paper-pieced her dress. Then I cut her out with scissors and adhered onto the background panel.

The sentiment is from This is My Life set. I stamped a swoosh image behind the "Beautiful" part with Fresh Peach ink (Hero Arts).

Head on over to the TSG blog for the challenge details and more inspiration from the other Trendsetters!

Thank you for visititng!

TSG Blog Hop Challenge Day 4 - Handwritten / Mixed Media Backgrounds

July 26, 2013

It's final day of this month's TSG sneak peeks. Today we are showing you two stamp sets designed by SUPER talented Trendsetter, Tobi!

Mixed Media Backgrounds from Tobi Crawford is perfect for all you Mixed Media crafters, but is also fabulous for cards, scrapbook pages, and other projects.
Mixed Media Backgrounds is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 10 stamps and will sell for $15.00.

Handwritten is a mixture of fabulous fonts and styles, perfect for adding that personal touch to any card or project.
Handwritten is a 4x6 set that includes 16 stamps and will sell for $15.oo.

As you know I'm not a Mixed Media crafter, so I don't have any ingredients for Mixed Media. But I tried to get some "Mixed Media-like" look on my card. Ha ha!

First I stamped a big flower image from Dream In Color set twice with black ink onto a patterned paper and added shade using Copics. Then I stamped a dotty stamp from Mixed Media Backgrounds with Cloud White ink (Versa Magic) and a couple of circle images with Rich Cocoa ink (Memento).

I daubed Cloud White ink (Versa Magic) on a couple of wood butterflies directly, then stamped the dotty pattern with Rich Cocoa ink (Memento).
