Mermazing Shaker Card - MFT WSC 334

May 24, 2017

Today I'm sharing a card I made for this weeks MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge. (WSC 334).

I followed the sketch properly and used the square framed element for a shaker.

To create my background panel, I cut watercolor paper and white embossed the sea plants from the Exquisite Ocean stamp set. Then I blended Banana Split, Peach Bellini, and Coral Crush Premium Dye inks, and spattered some white ink over it. I know that these colors are not usual for ocean. But I'm so pleased with that the mermaid, which I colored with purple, aqua, and yellow green, stands out against the background.
After inks dried, I stamped the fish with Coral Crush ink and cut the bottom edge with the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges Die-namics. The frame was cut out with the Stitched Square Scallop Edge Frames Die-namics.

I used some Sparkling Clear and Lemon Meringue sequins for my shaker elements.

MFT Sketchy Flowers Card Kit Release

May 17, 2017

The new MFT Card Kit, Sketchy Flowers is available for purchase in the MFT store now!!

I have one more card to share with you that I made using the Sketchy Flowers Card Kit.

(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
I used the Emboss Resist technique and the Camouflage technique for today's card. I white embossed the leaves from the Sketchy Flowers stamp set onto a panel of watercolor paper, then blended Wild Wisteria and Lavender Fields Premium Dye inks over them. I added some ink spatters with Lavender Fields and Limelight Premium Dye inks using a watercolor brush.

After the inks dried, I cut the bottom edge of the panel with the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges Die-namics, cut out the word "YOU" with the You Trio Die-namics, and stamped "TODAY IS ALL ABOUT" with Gravel Gray Premium Dye ink. I also die cut two more "YOU"s from Lavender Fields CS.
I adhered the inked panel to the card base which was stamped with the Triple Stripe Background, then inlaid the "YOU"s.

MFT May Card Kit Countdown Day 2

May 16, 2017

It's Day 2 of the MFT May Card Kit Countdown. The new Sketchy Flowers Card Kit will be available for purchase TONIGHT at 9:00 pm EDT!

(NOTE : The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
First I dry embossed a Smooth White panel using the Moroccan Lattice Stencil and adhered to the card base with foam tape.

Then I adhered a frame cut out of Kraft CS with the Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frames Die-namics. I die cut three "YOU"s - two were from Lavender Fields CS and one was from Tiny Check patterned paper -, layered them, and adhered in the frame. I gold embossed the words "MAKE MY LIFE BETTER" from the All About You stamp set and cut it out with a die from the Blueprints 27 Die-namics.

I stamped the flowers with Milk Chocolate, Persimmon, and Fuse Green Premium Dye inks and added the tiny spots with a white pigment marker. I cut them out with the matching dies and adhered along with a Mini Delicate Doily and a Vellum circle panel. Several sequins were added to finish off the card.
